Hamatana to Grange Planting Day

24 August 2020 10:00 am-3:00 pm

There is a  planting day to be held on the Hamatana to Grange Walkway. The site is near the middle of the trail so access from either end. This is in conjunction with Trees for Survival, Rotary and the Snells Beach Primary School. All the trees for this site have been grown by the children at the Snells Beach Primary School.

Due to the move to Covid Level 3 the children are not able to plant as originally planned. As we are now under time pressure to get the plants into the ground we are looking for volunteers to help us plant the 720 or so plants.

We will have the following protocol in place to help keep everyone safe.

Be on site from 10am . We will have a meeting station at either end of the Hamatana to Grange Trail. DO NOT PASS these points unless you have signed in. We will have a Covid QR Code at these points as well.

Please bring:

  • Your own spade (a small planting spade is best)
  • Gloves – These are mandatory this time.
  • Your own water and food
  • Raincoat
  • Closed footware, preferably gumboots.

Covid Protocol.

Maintain at least 2m between yourself and anyone not in your bubble at all times.

Do not share anything with anyone outside of your bubble.

DO NOT handle the plant trays. We plan to have the plants laid out before you arrive but just in case….

Do not enter the planting site unless you have signed in at one of the stations at each end of the trail.

Thank you for helping us and the Snells Beach School with this planting.
